Gift your body this nourishing and nurturing practice for your body, mind and soul. When we use props to help support the body in poses, it feels safe and secure enough to relax with a lot more ease. This in turn, brings us out of our sympathetic nervous tone (our fight or flight response), and into our parasympathetic nervous tone (our relaxation response), which is optimally where we want to be functioning the majority of the time. By spending a little longer in poses and accompanied by long rhythmic breaths, we can allow out body to decompress from the constant stresses we are exposed to on a daily basis.
