Calming & Grounding

Giving yourself permission to step onto your mat is a radical step toward self-care. Since the external world is demanding your constant attention via work commitments, relationships, social media, phone calls (and the list goes on...), our senses are overwhelmed and we don't allow ourselves the space or time to integrate all that is occurring in the world around us. When we choose ourselves, we are stepping off the merry-go-round of life to take care of our inner world, which is an incredibly fragile ecosystem of needs, desires, emotions and complexities that need regular tending too. However, given our culture doesn't prize having a robust and resilient inner world, this area of our lives often doesn't get the attention it deserves. Stepping onto your mat in reverence of your body, mind and spirit is the inner work. So, let's slow it down and take a breath, so you can not only stay present, but you can really listen to your inner world and what it needs from you.
